Publications 14. 5. 2026 New Publication: Poison and Promise on Eurozine A new article by Astrea Nikolovska, the MEMPOP associated researcher, has been published in Eurozine under the title “Poison and Promise,” exploring the social life of 1999 NATO bombing radioactive remnants.
Public outreach 27. 4. 2026 MEMPOP Presented During Visit of Czech President to the Institute of Ethnology On 1 April Czech President Petr Pavel visited the Institute of Ethnology, as part of his visit meeting centres of excellence within the Czech Academy of Sciences. Diána Vonnák presented the key research areas of the MEMPOP project.

Presentations 30. 1. 2026 MEMPOP Postdocs Deliver Guest Lectures at Charles University Laura Mafizzoli and Franz Graf gave guest lectures at Charles University, exploring how borderland landscapes—from Istrian foibe to Austrian–Hungarian peatlands—shape memory, politics, and social inequalities, highlighting MEMPOP’s commitment to cross-institutional dialogue.
