‘Becoming a Memory Activist: The Encounters with the Documents at the KGB MIA Archive in Tbilisi, Georgia’ by Laura Mafizzoli

On November 11, 2025, Laura Mafizzoli published her article titled “Becoming a Memory Activist: The Encounters with the Documents at the KGB MIA Archive in Tbilisi, Georgia” in SCC (Studies on Central Asia and the Caucasus). The article follows the story of Ms. Nestan, whose discovery of KGB files on her great-uncle’s repression becomes a catalyst for memory activism amid an authoritarian turn.
